On January 24, 2023, we were again guests at the Euroclub D\u00e9nia<\/a>. This time the topic was “Hearing loss in adults: acute or chronic. Dr. Christoph Meyer-Josten, clinical director of Policl\u00ednica Glorieta, welcomed the numerous visitors. Speakers were Dra. Paola Barbieri, a specialist in otolaryngology, ear, nose and throat surgery, throat sonography and sleep medicine, and Johan Sagel, a certified hearing aid acoustician.
<\/strong><\/p>\n

On the one hand, it was about understanding how hearing loss can develop, and on the other hand, what modern treatment methods are available to one today. In his presentation, Johan Sagel clearly explained what sound actually is, how the ear works, what can damage the ear, how hearing loss occurs and what can be done to hear better again.<\/p>\n

Do not wait too long in case of hearing damage<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dra Paola Barbieri’s presentation then highlighted the medical-medical aspects. Interesting: If one hears worse, the brain also becomes “lazier” and gets used to it. Therefore, even with mild hearing loss, one should see a specialist quickly to preserve as much hearing as possible. “Unfortunately, many wait too long,” the expert said.<\/p>\n

Following the presentations, there were numerous questions from the audience. We are pleased to have been guests of the Euroclub once again and thank all participants for their interest!<\/p>\n
